Batemans Bay Welcomed 'The World' Cruise Ship 28 & 29 December 2009.

Batemans Bay is expecting the cruise liner the World 28 December 09.

'The World' arrived in Batemans Bay at 9am on Monday 28th and departed at 8pm on Tuesday 29th December.

'The World' is a luxury residential cruise ship with 165 private residences on board. Some residents live permanently on board while others may reside part of the year and rent out their apartments on a short term basis at other times. The residences range from studio to 6 bedroom apartments and rental rates range from $1300 to $4750 per night.

Where to see 'The World' in Batemans Bay

The likely anchorage position for the World visit to Batemans Bay is approximately 2 kilometres off shore, west of the Tollgate Islands. Passengers will embark and disembark on cruise ship tenders at the T-Wharf near Batemans Bay Bridge.

Whats happening in Batemans Bay when 'The World' visits

Eurobodalla Tourism is hosting a Welcome Marquee at the wharf to provide visitors with information about Batemans Bay. Volunteers will meet and greet and assist passengers and be on hand to walk with them around Batemans Bay. Passengers will be offered an information flyer about Batemans Bay, a What’s On sheet and relevant information about local transport and buses services etc.

Parking and boarding areas for taxis, coaches and other ground transport is located at the head of the T-Wharf Pier and will be cordoned off by Eurobodalla Shire Council for the duration for the stay.

Pre organised tours were conducted by Bob Wood Travel. These currently include tours to Mogo Village and The Original Gold Rush Colony, Mogo Zoo and a Clyde River Cruise.
